ARTIST STATEMENT

i try and capture moments, textures, feelings that fleet, things that move. songs that people have sang a thousand different nights on a thousand different stages. hundreds of people, countless miles, the familiar, the strangers, a new face, a friend. each song on your iPod. the shadows of places we have been, the shadows of places we yearn to be. the sunlight when we see it, the nighttime all the time. the south, the northeast. middle america. cities. hamlets. towns. arenas. basements. foreign bodies.

i am just like anybody else but i can see the world through many different filters. i hope that in being an active part in what i am capturing or documenting, i am able to see all aspects of it and have a piece of it live in whatever i create.

my special projects cover varying themes including music, urban exploration, disorders, obsessions, fanaticism, and serial collecting; nostalgia, transit, and the unique spaces things may inhabit. what interests me most are the psychological, physical, and spiritual connections human beings can make with certain objects or places, and how this colors our lives... whether it's for better or worse.
